Columbus, Georgia

WHEREAS, students from Richards Middle School recently performed at the Clayton

County Performing Arts Center in Jonesboro, Georgia for the Georgia State

Middle School Honors Chorus;



WHEREAS, this event was sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association

and included approximately 500 of the top students in Georgia;



WHEREAS, the students from Richards Middle School served as outstanding

ambassadors for Columbus during this event.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend Richards Middle School Chorus Teacher Dr. Carol Mowen and

students Laura Douglas, Leslie Hilding and Devin Johnson who participated in

the Georgia State Middle School Honors Chorus held at the Clayton County

Performing Arts Center in Jonesboro, Georgia. Let a copy of this resolution be

forwarded to the Principal of Richards Middle School.

4th March, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ten
