declared surplus to make sure there are no complications. (Request of

Response We have checked the property and will continue to do so with new

property we acquire. We have tightened up our system which requires a staff

review of these type actions. We also have established a notification process

to insure citizens are aware of such actions in the future. This was a

learning experience. One thing we learned is that such areas that are part of

a subdivision should remain part of the subdivision and not be passed on to the

city. That is the way it is done in most cases.
