A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 61-01 AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF

$32,807.00 ADDITIONAL GREENSPACE GRANT FUNDING.

WHEREAS, Georgia Statute 36-22-4 (b) (2) provides that prior to the conclusion

of each fiscal year any appropriated Greenspace funds not previously disbursed

shall be divided among the counties having an approved Greenspace Program in

proportion to the ratio of each county?s grant under the statute; and,

WHEREAS, Chapter 391-1-4.13 of the official compilation of the Rules and

Regulations of the State of Georgia provide for the disbursement of

appropriated funds remaining at the end of the fiscal 2002 eligible counties

and municipalities with approved Community Programs; and,

WHEREAS, Columbus, having previously received a Georgia Greenspace Program

Grant Award for fiscal year 2002 for an approved Community Program is eligible

to receive a supplemental Grant Award pursuant to the above reference statute

and rules; and,

WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has authorized an

additional Greenspace Grant Award in the amount of $32,807.00 and this Council

desires to accept the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

We hereby authorize the Mayor of Columbus, Georgia to execute the attached

Amendment to the Georgia Greenspace Program FY-02 Grant Award Agreement for the

acceptance of an additional Greenspace Award in the amount of $32,807.00 and

Resolution No. 61-01 is hereby amended to reflect this additional Greenspace

Award.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the
