A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the North Columbus Babe Ruth All-Star Team (16-year-old) recently won

the 2003 Georgia State Championship and the Southeast Regional Championship;



WHEREAS, this Columbus squad also finished as runner-up in the 2003 Babe Ruth

World Series held in Jamestown, New York;



WHEREAS, North Columbus defeated Savannah twice by a score of 7-0 to win the

State crown and defeated teams from Union City, Tennessee, Brunswick, Virginia,

Smiths, Alabama, Etowah, Alabama, Augusta, Virginia, Coastal Plains, Virginia,

and Longwood, Florida to win the Southeast Regional Championship;



WHEREAS, North Columbus then pounded teams from Jamestown, New York,

Louisville, Kentucky, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Midland, Texas to finish as

runner-up in the Babe Ruth World Series, while only losing three games;



WHEREAS, these All-Stars served as great ambassadors for Columbus and their

achievements are worthy of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the following North Columbus Babe Ruth

All-Stars upon their Georgia and Southeast Regional Championship victories and

upon their runner-up finish in the 2003 Babe Ruth World Series: Josh Browning,

Ethan Carney, Pete Carney, Adam Coe, Tyler Causey, Adam Fuller, Bryan Kilgore,

Zack Martin, Pierce Moore, Iain Sebastian, Brett Worthington, Bat Boy Josh

Fuller, Manager Joey Browning, Coaches Mike Sinquefield and Randy Bishop, and

Head Scout Loy Sinquefield. Columbus is truly proud of this team and we wish

them every success in the future. Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded

to these 2003 All-Stars.

14th day of October, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
