A RESOLUTION

No.



WHEREAS, Howard Johnson Hotel employees Mindy McGuire, Connie Driver, Lou

Wilkerson and Brian Rutledge recently rescued a seven-year-old boy from

drowning at the hotel on July 6, 2003;



WHEREAS, these employees and other hotel guests came to the aid of the boy who

had slipped to the bottom the pool at the hotel's Veterans Parkway location;



WHEREAS, Mindy McGuire was one of two managers at the hotel trained in CPR and

she performed CPR on the boy along with another guest;



WHEREAS, these acts of heroism are worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend Howard Johnson Hotel employees Mindy McGuire, Connie Driver,

Lou Wilkerson and Brian Rutledge for their selfless acts in rescuing a

seven-year-old boy on July 6, 2003. Let a copy of this resolution be

forwarded to the above-named individuals.
