I. GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - WIDENING OF I-85/COLUMBUS TO ST.

MARY?S ROAD:



Authorization is requested to approve a resolution supporting a Local

Government Project Agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation for

road improvement to construct rehabilitation and widen project NH-185 (317)

from SR520 (Victory Drive) to St. Mary?s Road. An agenda report, resolution

and map are included.



II. FY2003 TRANSPORTATION PLAN:



Authorization is requested to apply and accept federal funds for

financial assistance to carry out the FY2003 Transportation Planning work

activities. An agenda report and resolution are included.



III. MONTHLY 911 CHARGE:



Authorization is requested to reaffirm a resolution for the $1.50

charge for 911 and the $1.00 charge for enhanced wireless 911 to continue per

billable telephone for another year. An agenda report and resolution are

included.



IV. PURCHASES:



Approval is requested of items "A" thru "F":



A. Long Distance Telephone Service (Annual Contract)

B. Historic Preservation Services (Annual Contract)

C. Five (5) Mid-size Extended Cab Pick-up Trucks

D. Semi-Automatic Pistols

E. Telephone Equipment for Jail Renovation

F. Relocation of Telephone Cables for Trade Center Renovations

1. Theatrical Hoist Motors ? Bid No. 02-0132

Scope of Bid

Provide four (4) theatrical hoist motors, CM Lodestar (or equivalent), to

Columbus Civic Center. The department will use the 1-ton, 3-phase motors to

install/remove goal posts for Columbus War Dogs football games.

1. Studio and Media Room Equipment ? RFP No. 02-0035

Scope of RFP

Construct a complete and professional television facility to include cameras,

lighting and presentation system in Council Chambers; equipment for a studio

located on the 3rd Floor of the Government Center Tower; video production and

editing system for the control room which is also located on the 3rd Floor of

the Government Center Tower. Outfit a media room with monitors to observe the

outgoing and off air signal of the Government Access Channel. The media room

will also need to be equipped to provide video and audio feeds for the

local/visiting media.

1. Safety Inspections of Taxicabs (Annual Contract) ? RFP No. 02-0042

Scope of RFP

Provide professional safety inspections of taxicabs. The contract

shall be for two years with the option to renew for three additional

twelve-month periods. Contract renewal will be contingent upon the mutual

agreement of the City and the Contractor.
