CITY ATTORNEY'S AGENDA
FOR THE MEETING OF JULY 15, 2003
O R D I N A N C E S:
(1) 2nd Reading ? Amending Chapter 16B of the Columbus Code by providing
criminal background checks for all applicants for employment and certain
current employees working with minors to become effective August 1, 2003.

(2) 1st Reading - Amending Columbus Code Section 2-17 by providing that an
Environmental Court Docket shall be heard at both a morning and afternoon
session on the first Wednesday of each month and shall be heard at both a
morning and afternoon session on the third Wednesday of each month in the
Recorder's Court. (Councilor Suber)
(3) 1st Reading - Regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus, Georgia by
establishing parking restrictions within Weracoba Park; defining public parking
spaces; designating areas where parking is prohibited; designating areas that
vehicular access is restricted to service vehicles of the Columbus consolidated
government; authorizing the installation of official traffic control signs
designating applicable restrictions; repealing any conflicting ordinances and
for other purposes. (Councilor McDaniel)
(4) 1st Reading - Amending the pay schedule of the Classification and Pay Plan
by providing a three (3) percent increase to the maximum pay grades for each
General Government and Public Safety pay grade effective July 1, 2003; and by
providing a three (3) percent increase to the minimum pay grades for each
General Government and Public Safety pay grade effective June 30, 2004; and for

(5) Commending Ret. Lt. Col. James E. Miller and Mr. P. Norman Blankenbeckler
for their leadership in presenting the Flag Day 2003 program at Shaw High
