MINUTES OF MEETING

JANUARY 28, 2003



The Greater Columbus Golf Authority held the scheduled monthly meeting at Bull

Creek Golf Course. Members present were Chairman Donald Clack, Nancy Wilkeson,

Floyd Washington, Willie Hill, Rhudine Nelson, Dr. Earl Bagley, Rick Cravens,

June Holder and Richard Hagler. Staff members present were John Milam and

Steve Brown.



Minutes of November 2002 meeting were approved as presented--motion made by

Rick Cravens and seconded by Nancy Wilkeson.

Bull Creek Golf Course



EAST COURSE

? Greens will be painted within next two weeks

? Installed drainage pipe #15 fairway





WEST COURSE

? Removed sprinklers and controllers from course

? Removing trees and hauling stumps

? Pulp-wood company on site

? City work crews dug-out mouth of creek #13 West





PERSONNEL

Steve Brown, Chuck Lewis, Paul Lowery, Calvin Hall, Jamie Hughes

and Donald Garrett attended 20 hour training class on

Inmate Labor

Donald Garrett passed state pesticide license test.

Staff: 7 full time employees & 13 inmates

Look at equipment for lease



No financial report was received from Godwin Creek and no representative was

present at meeting. Chairman Clack announced that Jeff Hudson is now in charge

at Godwin Creek and will be assisted by two volunteers.



Report of John Milam, Director of Golf



Oxbow generated revenue of $160,015 (includes $150,000 city contribution) and

expenses of $29,433 in December .

Bull Creek generated revenue of $64,065 and expenses of $103,450 in December.

(December expenses includes interest of $21,280 and supplies of $20,515)



John announced that cart fees had been increased by amount of tax that had been

charged per cart. (In other words, cart fees remains the same as before tax

was removed.)

04 Budget is being prepared. John was questioned about Bull Creek employees

being eligible for the bonus city employees received and he stated Bull Creek

employees are not eligible and any action of this type would have to come from

Authority. After a discussion by Authority members about this issue, it was

noted that Bull Creek employees received a pay increase in July, 02 and would

not receive a bonus. John discussed briefly some of the work that has been

completed on the 18 holes under renovation. Nancy Wilkeson suggested future

score card to include all four nine holes.





Old Business



Hardaway update?golf cart damage issue is being solved by allowing Hardaway

High School to pay 1/3 of damage, parent of student involved to pay 1/3 and

Bull Creek to absorb 1/3. John Milam polled each Authority member by

telephone and this was acceptable in order to put this issue to rest.

Hardaway High School will practice at Ft. Benning in ?03 and the Hardaway

tournament will be hosted by Ft. Benning?s Follow Me Golf Course.



Chairman Clack announced Columbus High School is the only school that will

practice at Bull Creek in ?03 due to only 18 holes of golf open until

renovations have been completed Practice will consist of 9 holes of golf on

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. All matches will be played elsewhere. Other

schools have found other courses for practice.



Chairman Clack announced First Tee Lease revisions have been completed and

lease will be signed today and forwarded to Jeff Hudson for signature.



New Business



Starters at Bull Creek are in place and will work every day. Receipt from cash

register must be in hand before beginning play.



Motion made by Richard Hagler and seconded by Willie Hill to adjourn meeting

at 4:55pm.
