BUILDING CONTRACTORS EXAMINING BOARD



REGULAR MEETING - 11:00 A. M. - APRIL 4, 2002





The regular monthly meeting of the Building Contractors' Examining

Board was held Thursday, April 4, 2002, at 11:00 A. M., in the office of

the Building Official. Members present were:



Mr. William L. Duck, Jr. Mr. Allen Wright

Mr. Johnny Cargill Mrs. Stella Shulman



Board Member Tommy Hinton was unable to attend the meeting. Mr. Johnny Cargill

was welcomed as a new member. He is the replacement for Mr. Sam Hartin, whose

two terms had expired.



Sixteen (16) applications were considered by the Board. Certificates

of Qualification as Contractors were issued to the following seven (7)

applicants:



Daniel R. Boyd (Residential Certificate)

America=s Home Place Columbus, GA

John Andrew Davis (Residential Certificate)

Andy Davis Repairs & Remodeling, Inc. Valdosta, GA

Albert H. Picken (Residential Certificate)

CNS Holdings, Inc. Columbus, GA

Joe T. Sandoval (Residential Certificate)

Don Harden Construction Valley, AL

Barry H. Wells (Residential Certificate)

Wells Construction Company Columbus, GA

Robert Jackson AJack@ Jones (Commercial Certificate)

Carlisle Services, LLC Hamilton, GA

Hal Williams (Commercial Certificate)

(No Company Name) Columbus, GA



Mrs. Shulman made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Cargill, to issue

Certificates of Qualification to these seven (7) applicants on the basis of

their grades on the examination, their letters of recommendation, and their

qualifications, as revealed by their resumes, which showed the times and places

of their work experience. (Examinations were administered by SBCCI, Southern

Building Code Congress, International, on Saturday, March 30, 2002.) Motion

carried unanimously by the four members present for this meeting.



None of the other nine (9) who applied passed the examination. Mr.

Duck made a motion, which was seconded by Mrs. Shulman, not to issue

Certificates of Qualification to these nine applicants until they pass the

examination. Motion carried unanimously by the four members present for this

meeting.

Since Mr. Sam Hartin, whose term ended on December 31, 2001, was the

Chairman of the Board, new officers were elected for this year. Mr. Allen

Wright was elected Chairman; Mrs. Stella Shulman, Vice-Chairman; Mr. William

L. Duck, Jr., Secretary; and, Mrs. Anne Thomas, Recording Secretary.



The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting, which was held on March 7,

2002, were approved as presented.



There being no further business to come before the Board, the

meeting adjourned at 11:29 A. M.
