builder/general contractor. Business licenses processed, renewed and issued

for years 1994-1995 under same business name and same business activities.

The Construction State Board of Georgia does not regulate general contractors;

therefore, a state license is not required to process a local business license

for a general contractor. General contractors are regulated at the local level

through the certificate of qualification process administered by Inspections

and Codes Enforcement Division and must be renewed each year. General

Contractors have to pass the Georgia Standard Examination Program test in order

to qualify for a certificate of qualification. Out of the 159 counties in

Georgia, only four (4) require the passing of this test to apply for a local

business license. The counties are Muscogee County (Columbus, GA), Grady

County, Thomas County (Thomasville, GA), and Lowndes County (Valdosta,

GA).



The State Board of Georgia does regulate electrical services and a state

license is required before a local business license can be processed and issued

for electrical services. Mr. Johnson is listed as the qualifying agent for

electrical services for J K Builders & Associates and has a state license from

the State Board of Georgia.
