at 2:00 p.m.

S Y N O P S I S



The Board of Elections and Voter Registration Board Meeting was called to order

by the Chairperson, Walter J. Wright, Jr.



Motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes of the November board

meeting minutes as presented. Vote unanimous.



COMMENTS:



Nancy stated to the board that Linda Beazley, Director of Elections, Secretary

of State?s Office, resigned January 5, 2005. Kathy Rogers is the newly

appointed Director.



NEW BUSINESS:



LEGISLATION: Nancy provided the Board with copies of the proposed Advanced

Voting and FVAP legislation for 2005 and the proposed Elections Housekeeping

Legislation..



PRECINCT CHANGES: The School District has requested that we move the Dawson

precinct from Dawson Elementary. Nancy received a letter from Mr. Myles

Caggins of the School District. Nancy would also like for the Blanchard

Precinct to be relocated because of handicap accessibility and parking. Mr.

Wright asked the Director about the funds we were to receive from the state to

correct the handicap access. Nancy stated that we received a $20,000.00 grant

about a month ago. The City is working with the School District and our

construction crew to do the necessary repairs that have been addressed. The

mechanics have to be worked out on how the bills will be paid.



The Director advised the Board of the following:



Super Precinct

New voter registration system

Printed voter certificates

Advance voting government site.



The contract with Diebold will expire the end of 2005.



Being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
