A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Resolution Number 584-82 allowed law enforcement officers in the
Department of Public Safety and the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department and
the office of the Marshal of the Municipal Court who retire after at least 30
years of service to be granted full title to the particular service revolver
which they have used for the longest period of time during their period of
service;
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 549-83 changed the requirement of 30 years service
to 20 years service;
WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate that such policy should be extended
to include all law enforcement officers who retire due to service related
disability after at least 15 years of service.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
Resolution No. 549-83 is hereby amended to include all law enforcement officers
who retire due to service related disability after at least 15 years of
service. All other provisions of Resolution No. 549-83 are retained.
