AN ORDINANCE
NO.
An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changing certain boundaries of a district
located at 313, 316, 317, & 319 24th Street; 307 26th Street; and 2600, 2606, &
2608 3rd Avenue, from R-4 (High Density Residential) Districts to R-3A (Medium
Density Residential) District; and 5125 13th Avenue, from C-3 (General
Commercial) District to R-3 (Medium Density Residential) District. .
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described property from R-4 (High Density
Residential) District to R-3A (Medium Density Residential) District:
BEGINNING at a point located on the Northerly Line of 26th Street, which point
is 65 feet Easterly along said North line of 26th Street from the intersection
of said North line of 26th Street with the Easterly line of Third Avenue, and
from said beginning point running in a Northerly direction along a line
parallel with the Easterly line of said Third Avenue, a distance of 64 feet to
a point; thence running in an Easterly direction along a line parallel with the
North line of 26th street a distance of 86 feet to a point; thence running in a
Southerly direction along a line parallel with the Easterly line of Third
Avenue a distance of 64 feet to a point located on the Northerly line of 26th
Street; thence running in a Westerly direction along said Northerly line of
26th Street a distance of 86 feet to the point of beginning.
And
BEGINNING at a point, which point is the Northeast intersection of Third Avenue
and 26th Street in the City of Columbus, and from said beginning point running
north along the East side of Third Avenue a distance of 64 feet to a point;
thence running East along a line parallel with the North line of 26th Street a
distance of 65 feet to a point; thence running South along a line parallel with
the East line of Third Avenue a distance of 64 feet to a point located on the
North side of 26th Street; thence running West along the North side of 26
Street a distance of 65 feet to the point of beginning.
And
BEGINNING at a point on the East side of Third Avenue at a point where said
Third Avenue is intersected by the South line of Lot 112 and running thence
South along Third Avenue a distance of 19 feet; thence East a distance of 125
feet; thence North a distance of 19 feet; thence West a distance of 125 feet to
the point of beginning
And
BEGINNING at a point in the Southwest corner of Lot No. 112 and running thence
South along the East side of Third Avenue a distance of 19 feet; thence East a
distance of 125 feet; thence North a distance of 19 feet; thence West a
distance of 125 feet to the point of beginning.
And
BEGINNING at a point on the North side of 24th Street, between Third & Fourth
Avenues, and at the Southwestern corner of Lot No. 62, and thence running East
along the North line of 24th Street, a distance of 35 feet to a point; thence
running in a Northerly direction, parallel to the Western line of Lot No. 62, a
distance of 120 feet to a point; thence running West, parallel to the Northern
line of 24th Street, a distance of 35 feet to a point on the Western line of
said Lot No. 62; and thence running South, along the line dividing Lots 62 &
63, a distance of 120 feet to the point of beginning.
And
BEGINNING on the South line of 24th Street at a point 40 feet East of the
Northwest corner of said Lot No. 59, and from said beginning point running
East, along the South line of 24th Street, 40 feet to a point; thence running
South 130 feet to the South of said Lot No. 59; thence running West, along the
South line of Lot No. 9, 40 feet to a point; and thence running North 130 feet
to the point of beginning.
And
BEGINNING at a point located on the North side of 24th Street, between Third &
Fourth Avenues, 35 feet from the Southwest corner of Lot No. 62, and thence
running Easterly on the North side of 24th Street a distance of 35 feet to a
point; thence running North a distance of 120 feet to a point; thence running
West a distance of 35 feet to a point; thence running South a distance of 120
feet to the point of beginning.
And
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of the intersection of Third Avenue & 24th
Street thence running along the Northerly boundary of 24th Street a distance of
224.81 feet to an iron pin, which iron pin marks the point of beginning; thence
running North a distance of 122.85 feet to an iron pin; thence running East a
distance of 75 feet to an iron pin; thence running South a distance of 122.85
feet to an iron pin; thence running West a distance of 75 feet to the point of
beginning.
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described property from C-3 (General
Commercial) District to R-3 (Medium Density Residential) District:
All that tract or parcel of land in the City of Columbus, in Muscogee County,
Georgia, designated as Lot No. 15, Block ?M?, of that certain subdivision known
as Beallwood Heights, as shown by a map or plat of said subdivision recorded in
Plat Book 9, Page 5, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of
Muscogee County, Georgia, to which plat reference is made for a more particular
description of said property.
