MINUTES # 50-04



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, December 29, 2004,

at 2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham, William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land.



Assessor Pat Hunter made a motion to approve Minutes # 49-04, Assessor Ann

Grantham seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board reviewed a request for non-taxability for parcel ID 071 006 010 and

requested a field review.



The Board reviewed and approved an application for conservation use assessment

for parcel ID 140 001 002, agreements for continuation of current use

assessment property for parcel ID 123 001 004; 126 001 039; 123 001 006, 123

001 007 and also approved the conservation use values for 2004.



Met with Mr. Williams representing Twenty Fourth Street Baptist Church, Inc.,

requesting non-taxability for parcel ID 015 041 007. Mr. Williams said the

property would be used for a picnic area by church members and anyone who wants

to use it. He said it was not used on January 1, 2004. The Board advised him

the property had to be used on January 1, 2004 to be tax exempt for the year

2004. Mr. Williams withdrew his application for 2004 and reapplied for the year

2005. The Board requested a field review.



Met with Mr. French representing North Highland Assembly of God, Inc.,

requesting non-taxability for parcel ID 081 001 021. Mr. French said the

property was used for church recreation and by the Royal Rangers on January 1,

2004. The Board approved tax exempt status for 2004.



Met with Residential Division Chief Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the
