MINUTES # 36-03



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, September 10,

2003, at 2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief Appraiser Martin J.

Land. Assessor William Braxton was absent.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes #35-03, Assessor Pat

Hunter second the motion and it carried unanimously.



The Board reviewed information received regarding conservation use applications

for parcel ID 102 001 006B, 145 002 001 and 141 002 002P and approved the

applications for 2003. The Board also approved the application for preferential

agricultural assessment for parcel ID 133 001 044H for 2003.



The Board reviewed a letter from Atty Rothschild regarding a request for

non-taxability for parcel ID 032 015 002; Assessor Richard Stallings made the

motion to deny tax exempt status for 2003, Assessor Pat Hunter second the

motion, motion carried.



The Board met with City Attorney Clifton Fay to discuss hiring a consultant and

expert witness for a pending personal property arbitration case.



Met with Commercial Division Chief Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following:
