Council Members
A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Major Michael E. Anti of Fort Benning recently won the Silver Medal in
the Three Position Rifle Competition at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in
Athens, Greece;
WHEREAS, Major Anti has been a member of the 1992, 2000 and 2004 Olympic
shooting teams;
WHEREAS, he also won the 2003 and 2004 USA Shooting Prone Rife National
Championship and was a 2000 World Cup Gold Medallist;
WHEREAS, he won the 1994 National Three Position Championship and won four Gold
Medals and one Silver Medal at the 1991 Pan-American Games;
WHEREAS, he was also a 1982 World Championship Team member and is a three-time
medallist in the Championship of the Americas Competition;
WHEREAS, he has received two Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation
Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, the
Overseas Ribbon, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Superior
Unit Award, the Expert Infantry Badge, the International Distinguished Shooter
Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the Ranger Tab.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Major Michael E. Anti upon his Silver Medal
in the Three Position Rifle Competition at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in
Athens, Greece. Columbus is proud of his achievements and his service to his
country and we wish him every success in the future. Let a copy of this
Resolution be forwarded to Major Michael E. Anti.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
16th day of November, 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
of ten members of Council.
