MINUTES # 18-03



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at

2:00PM

with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann Grantham,

William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief Appraiser Martin

J. Land.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes #17-03, Assessor Pat

Hunter second the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board reviewed applications for Conservation Use Assessment of Agricultural

Property; applications for Preferential Agricultural Assessment and requests

for continuation of Preferential Agricultural Assessments. The Board approved

the requests for continuation of Preferential Agricultural Assessments for

Parcel ID 126 001 033 and the applications for Conservation Use Assessment of

Agricultural Property for Parcel ID 126 001 006, 133 001 001, 104 001 001, 175

001 002, 078 001 005, 108 001 008,122 001 002A, 122 001 002B, 122 001 002P, 123

001 003, 123 001 004, 123 001 005P, 126 001 001A, 126 001 034A, and 126 001

039. The Board requested correction of ownership of the application for

Conservation Use Assessment of Agricultural Property regarding parcel ID 141

002 005; parcel ID 141 002 004H is pending approval awaiting correction of

ownership of parcel ID 141 002 005. The Board requested additional information

for parcel ID 149 001 004, 149 001 004P, 148 002 009, 192 013 008H, 137 001

005P, 102 001 006B, 145 002 001, and 141 002 002P. The Board denied the

applications for Conservation Use Assessment of Agricultural Property for

parcel ID 136 001 021, 127 001 021H and 157 001 001P. The Board is requesting

a field review for parcel ID 133 001 044H (application for Preferential

Agricultural Assessment).



The following VA letters of application for VA exemption were reviewed and

approved:

Jackson 145 008 016 Pending correct letter
