IV. NEW BUSINESS
Pastor Harvey R. Williamson and members of the congregation of St. Mark AME
Church requested the Board hear their concerns regarding a previous request (HD
0210-05) to demolish a house located at 528th 2nd Avenue. The demolition
request was denied. The Columbus Consolidated Government, Codes and Inspection
Division, has notified the church that the building does not meet code and must
be repaired. Pastor Williamson stated the church did not have the funds to do
the required work and asked the Board reconsider the request for demolition.
Chairman Sheftall asked Rebecca Wiggins, Code and Enforcement Officer, to
suspend action against the church for 60 days, by which time the Church would
be required to re-submit an application to the Board concerning the property.
Ms Wiggins agreed to the suspension under the condition that the church file an
application for the April 14, 2003 BHAR meeting by the March 31, 2003 deadline.
V. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted By:
John Sheftall, Chairman
