BUILDING CONTRACTORS EXAMINING BOARD



REGULAR MEETING - 11:00 A. M. - FEBRUARY 5, 2004





The regular monthly meeting of the Building Contractors' Examining

Board was held Thursday, February 5, 2004, at 11:00 A. M., in the office

of the Building Official. Members present were:



Mr. William L. Duck, Jr. Mr. Johnny Cargill

Mr. Howard Bartlett Mr. Allen Wright



Mr. Tommy Hinton has had to resign as a Board Member, since he has moved to

Harris County. Mr. Chad D. Pepper has been nominated to fill the unexpired

term of Mr. Hinton; however, Council has not approved his nomination. His

appointment should be approved prior to the next meeting of this Board.



Seven (7) applications were considered by the Board. Certificates of

Qualification as Contractors were issued to the following three (3) applicants:



Residential Certificates

Jack Holt, Jack Holt Contractors Brandon, Florida

Brad W. Wilson, Servicemaster Restoration Fortson, Georgia

Commercial Certificate

Keith R. Jenkins, Bricco Construction Company Buford, Georgia



Mr. Bartlett made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Cargill, to issue

Certificates of Qualification to these three (3) applicants on the basis of

their grades on the examination, their letters of recommendation, and their

qualifications, as revealed by their resumes, which showed the times and places

of their work experience. (Examinations were administered by International

Code Congress {formerly, SBCCI, Southern Building Code Congress,

International}, on Saturday, January 31, 2004.) Motion carried unanimously.



None of the other five (5) who applied passed the examination. Mr.

Cargill made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Bartlett, not to issue

Certificates of Qualification to these five applicants until they pass the

examination. Motion carried unanimously.



Mr. Bartlett made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Cargill, to approve the

Minutes of the Monthly Meeting, which was held on December 4, 2003. Motion

carried unanimously.



There being no further business to come before the Board, the

meeting adjourned at 11:24 A. M.

REGULAR MEETING - 11:00 A. M. - JANUARY, 2004







There was no meeting of the Building Contractors' Examining Board held

in January, 2004. Because of the holiday weekends no examination was

administered by ICC, International Code Congress, for the end of December or

first of January. Since there were no test results and no other business to be

conducted, the meeting was not held.
