RESOLUTION

NO.







WHEREAS, the Richards Middle School Science Olympiad Team recently was the

highest ranked team in Muscogee County at the Regional Science Olympiad

sponsored by Columbus State University on February 19, 2005;



WHEREAS, the Richards Middle School Team received a medal or ribbon in each of

the twenty-three events;



WHEREAS, every team member of the Richards Middle School Science Olympiad Team

participated in the Team?s success by winning at least one medal or ribbon;



WHEREAS, the Richards Middle School Team will compete at the State Science

Olympiad on April 16, 2005;



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Richards Middle School Science Olympiad

Team are worthy of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend and congratulate Coach Claire Derr and Assistant Coaches Rosie Cox,

Hal Midgette, Amy Smith, Jim Smith, John Tamblyn, Morris Foor, Tammy Fryar,

Lisa Skinner and Shelley Burnham and the following members of the Richards

Middle School Science Olympiad Team upon their advancing to the Georgia State

Science Olympiad: Ryan Arthur, Briggs DeLoach, Gabe Denes, Ted Fryar, Corley

Haywood, Caroline Henley, Cortland Johnson, Tyler Lawton, Brooke MacDonald,

Daniel Moore, Zach North, Danny Redding, Jimmy Sochan, Elizabeth Strickland,

Melody Williams, Marlin Gilmartin. Columbus is truly proud of this team, and

we wish them every success in the future. Let a copy of this resolution be

forwarded to Richards Middle School Principal Michael Johnson.

1st day of March, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
