The Greater Columbus Golf Authority held the scheduled monthly meeting at Bull

Creek Golf Course.? Members present were Chairman Donald Clack,?? Nancy

Wilkeson, Richard Hagler, Floyd Washington, Willie Hill, Rhudine Nelson and

June Holder.? Staff members present were John Milam and Steve Brown.? Guests

present were Leon Dunigan and Linda King.? Rick Cravens and Earl Bagley had an

excused absence.



Minutes of the? September? 2002 meeting were approved as presented.?? Motion

made by Richard Hagler and seconded by Nancy Wilkeson.

Course



? East Course ? Greens prepared for winter

? Raised fairway height of cut to ? inch

? Edged cart paths on back nine

? Overseeded tees East Course and Driving Range



? West Course ? Topdressed Greens



? Work Planned ? Overseed practice green

? Install rail fence at #13 tee

? Add additional sand where needed to bunkers on East Course

? Tree removal

Labor ? 9 full time employees ? 12 inmates ? Will lose mechanic very soon,

another staff member is being trained at present.

?Steve stated we expect to secure another van and additional guard and inmates

when we open the entire 36 holes next year.

? Work on wood chip areas

? Edge bunkers



No financial report was received from Godwin Creek and no representative was

present.

Chairman Clack stated a meeting was scheduled with Godwin Creek November 4,

2002 and he would restate the need for timely financial reports.?



Linda King, Leon Dunigan and about a dozen youth appeared before the

Authority.? Ms. King made a presentation regarding Mr. Dunigan being allowed to

give lessons on the Bull Creek? driving range.

Report of John Milam, Director of Golf



Discussed financial reports of Oxbow and Bull Creek.? Oxbow?? recorded 1,169

rounds of golf in?? September, 2002 with revenue of $17,968 compared to $16,202

in 2001.?? Bull Creek recorded 3,417 rounds with revenue of $81,138, compared

to $44,106 in 2001.? (Note revenue in?? Sept. 2001 had an end of month deposit

not validated with the City until following month.)?? When the time changes at

the end of October? we expect? our revenue to drop drastically.? We?re holding

our own at present because all 36 holes are open.?

First Tee Lease still has not been completed.? Richard Hagler will attend

meeting with Godwin Creek/First Tee representatives along with Chairman Clack

and John Milam.



John Milam stated he met with Carmen Caveza recently regarding landfill land.?

Mr. Caveza stated the State was pushing the City real hard to take this land at

Oxbow, but the City does not want to take it until grant money is available.??

Once the city gets the money to cap this land?? properly,? Mr. Caveza indicated

there would probably be a bond floated.?



Chairman Clack met with Hardaway Golf Coach Gaither and Coach from Columbus

High to let them know of the problem we will have next year with only 18 holes

open.? John Milam volunteered?? to help the golf coaches?? secure other courses

for play and practice next year.?



Regarding 02 Hardaway Golf Tournament golf cart damage, the bill is still

unpaid.? Motion made by Willie Hill and seconded by Richard Hagler requesting

bill for damage to golf cart amounting to $590.00 must be paid before any

further play will be allowed at Bull Creek Golf Course by Hardaway High School

golf team.? Hardaway High School Principal to be copied on this action.? Motion

was passed.



?Check has been received for golf cart damaged by Glynn Academy golf team

during the Hardaway Tournament.

Chairman Clack distributed copies of Resolution authorizing policy regarding

board appointees and attendance in meetings.



September? minutes to be amended to show Rhudine Nelson present.
