SUBJECT: Succession of the Members of the Muscogee County Board of Elections
and Registration

In response to a question concerning succession of board members for
the Muscogee County Board of Elections and Registration, please be advised that
members of this Board are not bound by the general two-term rule for members of
boards of the Consolidated Government. Columbus Code Sec. 2-1 provides a
specific exception for the Board of Elections as reflected in our previous
attached opinion dated December 7, 2000 to the Executive Director of the Board
of Elections and Registration.
