AN ORDINANCE

An ordinance amending Sections 19-151 and 19-152 of the Columbus Code (Taxation
and Licenses) so as to revise regulations for payment of business license taxes
by depository financial institutions located within the consolidated
government; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Section 19-151 of the Columbus Code is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2.
Section 19-152 of the Columbus Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and
there is substituted a new Section 19-152 to read as follows:
"Pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 48-6-93 (empowering counties to levy and
collect a business license tax from depository financial institutions), there
is hereby levied an annual business license tax upon state and national
banking associations, federal savings and loan associations and state building
and loan associations at the rate of 0.25 percent of the Georgia gross
receipts, as defined and allocated in O.C.G.A Sections 48-6-93 and 48-6-95, of
said institutions. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 48-6-93, the minimum annual
amount of said business license tax shall be $1000.00."
SECTION 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
