An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at 2818 8th Street and an area adjacent to 2818 8th Street, from R-4
(High Density Residential) District to R-3A (Medium Density Residential)
District and an area south of 2702 and 2704 Baldwin Street that fronts
Washington Avenue, from C-2 (Neighborhood Shopping) District to R-3 (Medium
Density Residential) District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described properties from R-4 (High Density
Residential) District to R-3A (Medium Density Residential) District:
Commencing at a crimped top pipe at the southeast corner of Buena Vista Road
and 8th Street and running N 02 degrees 45 minutes 45 seconds W a distance of
35.12 feet to a crimped top pipe; thence running N 42 degrees 26 minutes 04
seconds E a distance of 95.58 feet to a calculated point (zoning line) which
marks the point of beginning; thence running N 42 degrees 26 minutes 04 seconds
E a distance of 115.36 feet to a crimped top pipe; thence running N 65 degrees
29 minutes 48 seconds E along the arc of a curve to the right, said curve
having a radius of 435.00 feet, a distance of 339.42 feet to a crimped top pipe
on the curving southerly margin of 8th Street; thence running N 88 degrees 35
minutes 06 seconds E a distance of 98.15 feet to a crimped top pipe; thence
running S 01 degree 29 minutes 23 seconds E a distance of 279.55 feet to a
crimped top pipe; thence running N 83 degrees 57 minutes 29 seconds West a
distance of 342.58 feet to a crimped top pipe; thence running S 51 degrees 59
minutes 44 seconds W a distance of 92.33 feet to a calculated point (zoning
line); thence running S 47 degrees 33 minutes E a distance of 106.57 feet to
the point of beginning.
And
Commencing at a crimped top pipe at the northwest corner of Samson Avenue and
8th Street and running S 54 degrees 37 minutes 32 seconds W a distance of 37.14
feet to a calculated point (zoning line) which marks the point of beginning;
thence running S 54 degrees 37 minutes 32 seconds W along the arc of a curve to
the left, said curve having a radius of 485.00 feet, a distance of 143.37 feet
to an iron pin on the curving northerly margin of 8th Street; thence running S
42 degrees 26 minutes 04 seconds W a distance of 115.36 feet to a calculated
point (zoning line); thence running N 47 degrees 33 minutes 56 seconds W a
distance of 8.19 feet to a calculated point (zoning line); thence running N 01
degree 24 minutes 54 seconds W a distance of 187.54 feet to calculated point
(zoning line); thence running S 88 degrees 30 minutes 56 seconds W a distance
of 220.59 feet to the point of beginning.
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described properties from C-2 (Neighborhood
Shopping) District to R-3 (Medium Density Residential) District:
Commencing at an iron pin at the southeast corner of Baldwin Street and
Washington Avenue and running south a distance of 150 feet to a crimped top
pipe which marks the point of beginning; thence running N 88 degrees 32 minutes
14 seconds E a distance of 50.28 feet to a calculated point (zoning line);
thence running N 01 degree 27 minutes 48 seconds W a distance of 125.16 feet to
a calculated point (zoning line); thence running N 46 degrees 26 minutes 14
seconds W along the arc of a curve to the left, said curve having a radius of
125.00 feet, a distance of 98.02 feet to a crimped top pipe on the curving
northerly margin of Washington Avenue; thence running N 01 degree 37 minutes 10
seconds W a distance of 24.95 feet to the point of beginning.
The above-described properties are being rezoned with the following condition:
Joint-use driveways shall be required as determined by the City Traffic
Engineer.
