A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, Mr. Karl Pearson, an agent with the Muscogee County Extension Service,
is leaving the consolidated government to pursue a new venture in South China;
WHEREAS, under the sponsorship of Cedar Fund International of Australia, he and
his wife, Chris, will be living in Jinghong on the Laos-Burma frontier and
introducing new cash crops to village farmers;
WHEREAS, in Columbus, he has spearheaded programs such as the Valley Master
Gardener program, has presented educational seminars at Oxbow Meadows and
helped build the Oxbow Butterfly Garden;
WHEREAS, Mr. Pearson has also worked in Mozambique and Guatemala with the Peace
Corps;
WHEREAS, his volunteer spirit and public service to the Columbus community are
worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby express our deep appreciation to Mr. Karl Pearson, an agent with the
Muscogee County Extension Service, who is leaving the consolidated government
to pursue a new venture in South China. We wish him and his wife Chris every
success with their new international venture. Let a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to Mr. Karl Pearson.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
30th day of September, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
