A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Brookstone School Boys tennis team recently won their first Class

A State Championship since 1987 in Stone Mountain, Georgia; and,



WHEREAS, the Cougars defeated St. Francis in the semifinals and then

went on to win a thrilling 3-1 match against Athens Academy for the

championship; and,



WHEREAS, the Brookstone Lady Cougars also won their seventh state championship

to complete the weekend sweep; and,



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of these Brookstone tennis teams are worthy of

special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend and congratulate Brookstone Cougars boys tennis players Mason

Stewart, S.L. Mullin, Warner Kennon, Clifton Fay, Carter Wallace, Wilson

Carroll, Mac Dillon, Zack Bishop, Edgar Callaway, Charlie Cumiskey and Coach

Jim East upon their victory in the 2005 Class A State Championship in Stone

Mountain, Georgia. Columbus is proud of these athletes and their

accomplishments and we wish them every success in the future. Let a copy of

this resolution be forwarded to the above-named participants.
