The terms of office of Mr. Frank D. Chester, Mr. Billy Watson and Mr. Clay

Land will expire on October 31, 2004. All three incumbents are eligible to

succeed themselves for another term of office.



There are seven members serving on this board, all of which must be former

Mayors, former City or County Commissioners, or former members of the Columbus

Council.

Charge/Mission

This board was established for the purpose of honoring deceased citizens

through a continuing memorial program under which public activities, buildings,

bridges and other facilities may be named for citizens who have distinguished

themselves through service to the city. It has seven (7) members, all of which

must be former Mayors, former City or County Commissioners, or former members

of the Columbus Council. All of its members are appointed by the Columbus

Council. (Columbus Code, Sec. 2-81 through 2-87) Members are eligible to

succeed themselves, pursuant to Ordinance Number 02-109.
