RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, Kay G. Love, Director of Finance, will be leaving the Columbus

Consolidated Government on October 10, 2003; and,



WHEREAS, Kay began her distinguished service with the City on January

4, 1993 as a Financial Analyst; and,



WHEREAS, after serving 4 years as the Financial Analyst, Kay was promoted to

Revenue Division Manager on January 1, 1997; and,



WHEREAS, Kay was promoted to Finance Director on December 1, 1998; and,



WHEREAS, Kay has led with the adage of ?Be better Tomorrow than you were

Today?; and,



WHEREAS, Kay brought an incredible amount of energy, knowledge and savvy to the

Columbus Consolidated Government; and,



WHEREAS, during Kay?s 5-year tenure as Finance Director, the City has received

both the Certified of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the

Distinguished Budget Presentation Award presented by the Government Finance

Officers Association (GFOA) each year; and,



WHEREAS, Kay has lead the department with laser point vision and tenacity that

strengthened the City?s overall financial position. Kay has been instrumental

in the successful development and implementation of 2 Special Local Option

Sales Tax (SPLOST), a financial accounting system, employee recognition and

training programs, and numerous initiatives aimed at achieving operational

efficiencies and making the City a better place to work; and,



WHEREAS, her peers have recognized Kay?s professionalism, credibility and

vision by appointing her to the Board of Directors of the Georgia Government

Finance Association (GGOA) and she is currently serving as President of the

Association; and,



WHEREAS, through the leadership and guidance of this ?Superstar?, the

Consolidated Government of Columbus will be ?Better Tomorrow than it was Today.?



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our deepest appreciation to Kay G. Love

for her diligent and faithful service to the Consolidated Government of

Columbus, Georgia. Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Kay G. Love.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

7th day of October, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote

of ten members of Council.
