A RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, on April 24, 2004, the American Heart Association, Columbus

Fire and EMS, Save-A-Life Saturday Mass CPR Committee and Columbus Riverfest

held the 4th annual Save-a-Life Saturday Mass CPR training for the citizens of

Columbus;



WHEREAS, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, better known as CPR, is a

life-saving procedure that can help maintain the circulation of blood in the

body until Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel can arrive;



WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia trained 200 people in the life-saving skill

of CPR and this event would not have been possible without the tremendous

public-private partnership support from the American Heart Association;

Columbus Fire and EMS; Columbus Technical College; Save-A-Life Saturday Mass

CPR Committee; Columbus Riverfest; Kendrick High School; and volunteers and

instructors from area healthcare organizations, and businesses.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend and express our deep appreciation to Division Chief Mike

Higgins, Chairperson for Save-A-Life Saturday Mass CPR Committee; Laura Cardin

Health Initiatives Manager, American Heart Association; CPR Instructors; Maggie

Monahan, Bob Monahan, Cassandra Richardson, Paula Carter, Larry Keaton, Jack

Rodgers, David McCall, Michelle Breitfelder, Paulette Rhodes, David Arrington,

Margarita Callahan, Rebecca Tew, Hudson Garrett, Daphne Register, Aaron Wilson,

Sherrie Grantham, Lori Ashmore, and all the volunteers who donated their time

and the people of this community who came and learned this life-saving skill.
