A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF RIGHT OF WAY, GEORGIA, MUSCOGEE

COUNTY FOR ROAD IMPROVEMENT ON ST. MARY?S ROAD FROM BUENA VISTA ROAD TO ROBIN

LANE.

WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Columbus,

Georgia, a consolidated city/county government, desires to construct a road

known as: St. Mary's Road widening from Buena Vista Road to Robin Lane

STP-8038(7) in Columbus, Georgia; and,

WHEREAS, the project will extend wholly within the corporate limits of

Columbus, Georgia under the laws of the State of Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

1.

That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract for Acquisition of

Right-of-Way related to Project No. STP-8038(7) Muscogee County, for road

improvement of St. Mary?s Road from Buena Vista Road to Robin Lane.

2.

That further authorization is given to contract for professional services, i.e.

real estate appraisers, legal counsel, etc., upon compliance with Procurement

Ordinance and subsequent agreements to implement the project with the Georgia

Department of Transportation (DOT) for the Road Improvement of St. Mary's Road

from Buena Vista Road to Robin Lane, STP-8038(7) in Columbus, Georgia..

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the 7th day of January 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative

vote of members of said Council.
