Columbus Consolidated Government
Council Meeting
Agenda Report # ______
TO: Mayor and Councilors
SUBJECT: Driveway Variance
INITIATED BY: Department of Engineering
______________________________________________________________________________
Recommendation: Approve the attached resolution authorizing the variance to the
City Code that will allow the driveway to cross the property line for 6950
Beaver Run Road.
Background: The Traffic Engineering Division received a request for a variance
to the City Code requirements for the driveways accessing Milgen Road and Flat
Rock Road because the radii extend beyond the property line. This violates the
City Code Section 22-32(A) (6) (a); however, the owners of the property at 6950
and The Woodruff Company has a written agreement that will allow the radii to
cross the property line if Council approve the variance.
Analysis: The Traffic Engineering Division reviewed the site plans and
recommends approval of the variance.
Alternatives: A denial would prevent the installation of the driveways.
Financial Considerations: There are no costs to the City beyond administrative
cost for permitting and inspections.
Legal Considerations: A variance to the City Code requirements for the
driveways requires Council approval.
Recommendations/Actions: Approve the recommended variance for the driveway
radii extending beyond property lines for 6950 Beaver Run Road.
RESOLUTION
NO. _________
