WHEREAS, the Brookstone School Academic Bowl team recently won the 2005 PAGE

State Championship for Middle Grades;



WHEREAS, the eight-student team and three other state finalist participated in

the Professional Association of Georgia Educators?

annual competition at Turner Field on February 7, 2005;



WHEREAS, the PAGE Academic Bowl features teams of middle school students

fielding questions on subjects such as Georgia history, math, science,

literature and the performing arts and questions are developed using the

Georgia Middle School Curriculum;



WHEREAS, more than 2,000 students competed at the local, regional and state

levels;



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Brookstone School Academic Bowl team are

worthy of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the following members of the Brookstone

School Academic Bowl team upon their victory in the 2005 PAGE Academic Bowl

State Championship: Team Captain Samuel Coffin, Blake Hudson, Praveen

Nandamuru, Slayton Gilmore, McKay Sheftall, Kevin Jacobson, Sagar Patel,

Freeman McCluskey, Coach Linda Wallman, Middle School Principal Bill Arrington

and Headmaster Scott Wilson. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the

above-named participants.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

8th day of March, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of

ten members of said Council.
