An Ordinance amending Article VIII of Chapter 2 of the Columbus Code

(Convention and Visitors Board of Commissioners) by replacing the words

'Executive Director' with the words 'President and CEO' and the words

'chairman' or 'vice-chairman' with the words 'chair' or 'vice-chair'; by

reducing the number of Board members from fourteen to nine; and for other

purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



Section 1.



Article VIII of Chapter 2 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by adding the

following new Section 2-100 to read as follows:



?Wherever the words 'Executive Director' appear in this Article, they shall be

replaced by the words 'President and CEO.' Wherever the words 'chairman' or

'vice-chairman' appear in this Article, they shall be replaced by the words

'chair' or 'vice-chair.'"



Section 2.



Section 2-91 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by deleting the

third sentence in its entirety and substituting a new third sentence to read

as follows:



"The Convention and Visitors Board of Commissioners shall consist of

nine (9) persons, all of whom shall be residents of Columbus, Georgia and

qualified by law to vote at elections for the Mayor and members of the Columbus

Council. "



Section 3.



Section 2-92 of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by deleting the third

paragraph in its entirety and substituting the following language:



"Three Commissioners shall represent the hotel/motel industry, three

Commissioners shall represent the restaurant/retail trade and three

Commissioners shall serve at large. Such representation of the new nine-member

Commission may be accomplished by the Columbus Council as current terms expire

and in any order desired by the Council."





Section 4.



All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are

hereby repealed.
