NO.
WHEREAS, Mr. John Anker, President of Ankerpak, recently secured $250,000.00
worth of local corporate donations of toiletries, hairbrushes, combs, hair
barrettes, anti-bacterial soap, shower caps, sponges, makeup bags, batteries
and other items to be sent to Katrina victims;
WHEREAS, Mr. Anker set up assembly lines to create 28,800 Katrina Kits in
donated Weyerhaeuser boxes built to Mr. Anker?s specifications. The boxed kits
amounted to four truckloads to be delivered to New Orleans Goodwill in trucks,
which, along with fuel, were donated for this local effort;
WHEREAS, Mr. Anker epitomizes the willing of the Columbus corporate
community to donate products and services, all to help their fellow man in
times of disaster; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Anker?s leadership in this local relief effort to assist the
victims of Hurricane Katrina is worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Mr. John Anker, President of Ankerpak, for
organizing the local corporate community to donate items for Katrina Kits in
support of Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans, Louisiana. Let a copy of
this resolution be forwarded to Mr. John Anker.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on
the 1st day of November, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
vote of ______ members of said Council.
