The term of office of Mr. William Braxton on the Board of Tax Assessors

expired on December 31, 2004. He is eligible to succeed himself. He was first

appointed to the board on June 4, 2002 to fill the unexpired term of the late

John P. Kendrick. He is eligible to succeed himself for his first full term of

office on the board.



There are currently four members of the Board who reside in Senatorial

District 16, of which Mr. Braxton is one. There is one member who resides in

Senatorial District 15 and currently one woman serving on the board.



Enclosed is a copy of the board data sheet, as well as a list of the

current members.

POWERS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: See O.C.G.A. 48-5-291.



COMPENSATIONS: Non-city employee members receive $250 per month (See December

30, 1970 minutes of Organizational Meeting of Columbus Council. Budget Officer

advises, by phone call of April 28, 1988, that this has been increased to

$5,200 per year pursuant to budgets adopted by the Council.



SUCCESSION OF MEMBERS: See Col. Code, Sec. 2-1, for general provision applying

to all boards, commissions, and authorities. Full time city employee members of

this board are excepted from this rule.
