A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Columbus Charter Review Commission has recently completed its work

as required under Georgia law;



WHEREAS, Commission Chairman Ray Crowley ably led the Commission as they

reviewed various sections of the Columbus Charter and departments of the

Consolidated Government;



WHEREAS, the change recommended for annual audits of boards and commissions of

the Consolidated Government will be placed on the ballot at the next general

election for consideration by Columbus voters;



WHEREAS, the Commission held a series of public meetings to discuss any

proposed changes in the Columbus Charter.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to the Columbus Charter

Review Commission Chairman Ray Crowley and members Dr. Nemia Chai, Lisa

Collins, Leonard D. Crain, Jr., Stephanie K. Crosse, F. Karl Douglass, Edward

Dubose, Joe Feliciano, Meridith Jarrell, Johnathan L. Liss, M.D., Jerry

Luquire, Frank Myers, Eddie Pritchett, Murray Solomon, Joseph Wiley, Jr.,

Margaret Jenkins, Judge Clay Land, Judge Albert Thompson, Don Cook, Harold

Bryant, Arthur Smith, Mary G. Walker-Crooks, Bob Hydrick, C. L. Moffitt and

Jack Bassett for their dedication and hard work at fulfilling the duties of the

Commission as required by Georgia law. Let a copy of this resolution be

forwarded to each member of the Columbus Charter Review Commission.
