In response to a question concerning private dumpsters on the premises

of a closed business, please be advised that Mr. Rufus Riggs of the Public

Services Department is in the process of handling this matter

administratively. If this solution is not effective, then the Council may

consider adoption of the attached draft ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE

An Ordinance amending Section 13-167.4 of the Columbus Code, Solid

Waste Collection and Disposal by providing that private contractors providing

bulk containers for solid waste disposal to a private business shall remove

such bulk containers within 15 days of the closing of any such private

business; and for other purposes.



THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



Sections 13-167.4 (C) of the Columbus Code is hereby amended by adding a new

subsection (3) to read as follows:



"(3) A private contractor shall remove any bulk containers used for solid

waste disposal from the premises of a closed private business within fifteen

(15) days of the closing of any such private business."
