MINUTES # 09-05



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at

2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham, William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes # 08-05, Assessor

Richard Stallings seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously.



Chief Appraiser Martin Land presented the results of a field check for parcel

ID M2475201 requesting non-taxability. The Board reviewed the results and

approved tax exempt status for the year 2005.



Chief Appraiser Martin Land advised the Board that the staff researched the

matter regarding account # 05751701 and they determined ?Parham Flooring?

closed their business license in April 2000. The Board removed the assessment

for account # 05751701 for the years 2001 through 2004.



Rev. Cabrera representing Iglesia Assemblea De Dos El Refugio Church had an

appointment with the Board of Tax Assessors, but did not appear. (Parcel ID 064

033 054)



Mr. Adams had an appointment with the Board of Tax Assessors regarding his

personal property account # 0598101, but did not appear.



Met with Pastor Mosley representing the Church of God of Greater Columbus,

Inc., requesting non-taxability for property located at 1131 20th Street

(Parcel ID 028 024 007). Pastor Mosley said the property used to be a

two-bedroom apartment, which they remodeled and changed into a church building.

He said the property is used for church services and bible classes and was

being used on January 1, 2005. The Board requested a field review.
