BOARD OF HONOR
March 12, 2004
?Telephone Vote Tabulation?
A request to name Pioneer Little League Field Number One within Britt
David Park was presented by Councilor Henderson on behalf of the Pioneer Little
League Association to the members of Council at their March 2, 2004 night
meeting.
The request was to be forwarded to the Board of Honor members for their
consideration. It was necessary to hold a meeting for the Board of Honor
members prior to the March 9, 2004 Council Meeting.
The members were contacted by telephone on March 4, 2004 to consider an
appropriate date and time. There was no consensus regarding an available date
to achieve a quorum before the March 9, 2004 Council Meeting.
It was suggested that a telephone survey be conducted to confirm the
recommendation of the board members as a whole. There were Board of Honor
members that wanted to be provided with additional information regarding Lamar
?Trey? Pruitt, III, before a decision could be made. Letters were sent to the
Board of Honor members with information on Lamar ?Trey? Pruitt, III and to
advise them that a telephone survey of votes would take the place of an actual
meeting in this situation and that each member would be contacted by the Clerk
of Council?s Office to register their vote in support or disapproval of naming
the field in memory of Lamar ?Trey? Pruitt, III.
Members were contacted on March 12, 2004 and asked if they would be in
favor or oppose the request to name Pioneer Little League Field Number One
within Britt David Park in memory of Lamar ?Trey? Pruitt, III. The results of
the vote tabulation are as follows:
Mr. Billy Watson: Favor
Mr. Philip Batastini: Favor
Mr. Bob Hydrick: Favor
Mr. John E. Wells: He wanted to make certain that the request to name the
field in memory of Lamar ?Trey? Pruitt, III came from the Pioneer Little League
Association, and if this was the case; then, he would be in support of the
request. Once Mr. Wells was advised that the request was from the Pioneer
Little League Association, he was in favor.
Milton Hirsch: Favor.
Jack Mickle: Mr. Mickle was not contacted, once the Clerk?s Office gained
knowledge that he was no longer a resident of Muscogee County.
Mr. Clay Land: Mr. Land was not contacted as well.
The call to order of an official meeting would have recognized the five
members, who had cast a vote, to be considered a quorum of the Board of Honor
Members. With this statement being true to fact, it has be determined that the
Board of Honor is submitting a recommendation in favor of the request to name
Pioneer Little League Field Number One in memory of Lamar ?Trey? Pruitt, III.
