RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, Carter Wallace, a senior at Brookstone High School, was recently
named as one of Georgia?s top two youth volunteers through the Prudential
Spirit of Community Awards Program;
WHEREAS, the awards are given annually and as a State Honoree, Carter will
receive a $1000 cash award, an engraved silver medallion and a trip to
Washington, D.C., April 30-May 3;
WHEREAS, the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, created by Prudential
Financial and partnership with the National Association of Secondary School
Principals, constitute America?s largest youth recognition program based solely
on volunteerism;
WHEREAS, Carter was considered among 20,000 young people across the country for
this award because of his extraordinary volunteer efforts with Habitat for
Humanity and ?Habi-TOT for Humanity,? a non-profit foundation created by Carter
as he attained his Eagle Scout Badge which delivers playhouses to children of
Habitat families;
WHEREAS, he is also being considered for one of ten National Honoree Awards
which will be announced during the trip to Washington, D.C.;
WHEREAS, Carter?s accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this
Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Carter Wallace of Brookstone High School
upon his receipt of the 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community Award and we wish
him every success at the National Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C. Let a copy
of this Resolution be forwarded to Carter Wallace.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
8th day of March, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
ten members of said Council.
