The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at

2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Ann Grantham, William Braxton

and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief Appraiser Martin J. Land.

Assessor Richard Stallings was absent.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes #27-03, Assessor Pat

Hunter second the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board approved the applications for conservation use assessment for parcel

ID 141 002 04H and 141 002 005 for 2003.



Met with Commercial Division Chief Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following:



2001 Appeals: 5 (NC)

Permits: 20



Met with Personal Property Division Chief Oliver Juhan, reviewed and approved

the following:



Assessment Corrections: 21(+)

31(-)

Appeals: 1(+)

5(-)

1(NC)



The Board discussed a 2000 and 2001 pending real estate court case and agreed

on making a counter offer for settlement for the years of 2000 and 2001. The

counter offer will be submitted to City Attorney Clifton Fay for possible

settlement.
