A RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, PFC Marquis Antoine Whitaker of Columbus died on April 27, 2004 in

Scania, Iraq in the line of duty;



WHEREAS, PFC Whitaker enlisted in the United States Army on November 19, 2002

and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal Posthumously;



WHEREAS, he was born in Columbus, Georgia on July 10, 1983, son of Anthony

Whitaker and Jaqueline Williams;



WHEREAS, he was a 2002 graduate of Kendrick High School, a member of the

Prospect AME Church and participated in Youth Services with New Revival Baptist

Church;



WHEREAS, PFC Whitaker is survived by his parents, Anthony Whitaker and

Jaqueline Williams, two brothers, Anthony Whitaker, Jr. and Deonta Whitaker and

five sisters, Shamara Render, Vaquetta Whitaker, Cristy Williams, Velisha

Cunningham and Keundra Williams.



NOW, THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby convey to the family of PFC Marquis Antoine Whitaker our sincere

condolences and deepest sympathy. His compassion and service to the Columbus

community and our country will long be remembered. Let a copy of this

resolution be forwarded to the family of PFC Marquis Antoine Whitaker.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

8th day of June, 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of

ten members of Council.
