Subject Cellular Telephone Service
Description If and when the City should go to another company on the cellular
telephone service, advise whether or not those city employees that have their
personal service with the current service provider, will be given the same
existing rate until their contract expires because the City left, or will they
have to renegotiate a new contract.

Response The only thing addressed in the RFP specifications is that the
Employee must make arrangement themselves to contract with the provider for
cellular phone service.
We will get something in writing from PSC as to what will happen with employee
contracts, if they are not awarded the contract. Since employees signed a
contract with PSC, I would assume the contract would stay in effect until the
individual's contract expires. However, allow us to get some clarification
from PSC.
Update....2/25/02:
Per signed letter PSC Wireless, will extend the contract through April 30,
2002. Also City employees personal service rate will continue until each
individual contract expires.
