SUBJECT: Pool Fees for Out of County Residents

Recommendation: Approve an ordinance amending the parks & recreation?s pool fee

table to include fees for out of county residents.



Background: During the FY04 budget process, the Parks & Recreation Department

proposed raising the fees for the use of Parks & Recreation facilities and/or

activities to all out of county residents. On April 22, 2003, a public meeting

was held on theses proposed fees. One citizen attended the meeting along with

City staff. The fees were discussed and approved as part of the FY04 Council

Budget Review meetings. The fees for out of county residents will be approved

as part of the FY04 Operating budget. The pools fees must be approved prior to

the Operating budget due to pool season starting on June 4, 2003.



Analysis: The new fees currently recommended are included in the FY04

Recommended Budget.



Financial Considerations: If the fees are not approved prior the opening of

the pool season, the City will lose revenue associated with the new fees.
