MINUTES OF LAST TWO MEETINGS: Minutes of the January 22, 2002, Meeting of the

Council of the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia.

CONSENT AGENDA:

(1) 2nd Reading ? Amending the budgets for the fiscal year 2002 beginning July

1, 2001 and ending June 30, 2002, for certain funds of the Consolidated

Government of Columbus, Georgia; appropriating amounts shown in each fund for

salary increases, fees, positions and other activities; and for other purposes.

(2) ACCEPTANCE OF STREETS ? CREEKSTONE COURT AND STONE CREEK LANE:

Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Creekstone

Court and Stone Creek Lane located in Section 5, Stone Creek Subdivision. The

Department of Engineering has inspected these streets and recommends the

acceptance. An agenda report and resolution are attached.



(3) ACCEPTANCE OF STREETS ? HIGHLANDS DRIVE, MEADOW VALLEY COURT AND WOODLAND

RIDGE DRIVE:

Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Highlands Drive,

Meadow Valley Court and Woodland Ridge Drive located in Phase 5, Garrett Creek

Subdivision. The Department of Engineering has inspected these streets and

recommends the acceptance.

(4) ACCEPTANCE OF STREETS ? MITCHELL RIDGE DRIVE AND MITCHELL RIDGE PLACE:

Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Mitchell Ridge

Drive, Mitchell Ridge Place located in Section Two, Mitchell Ridge

Subdivision. The Department of Engineering has inspected these streets and

recommends the acceptance.



(5) UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOL TOBACCO AND FIREARMS CO-OPERATIVE

AGREEMENT GRANT:

Authorization is requested to submit an application and if approved accept a

Co-operative Agreement Grant in the amount of $120,400 from the United States

Department of Alcohol and Firearms for the Gang Resistance Education and

Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.) An agenda report and resolution are attached.



(6) Resolution excusing Councilor Charles McDaniel from the January 22, 2002

Council Meeting.



(7) Letter from David Erickson requesting that a public hearing be called on

two zoning petitions that were recommended for denial by both the Planning

Advisory Commission and Planning Division. (The Council received the two

(a) Petition submitted by Woodmont Properties, LLC. to rezone approximately 32

acres of property located on portions of 6001 & 6015 Warm Springs Road from an

A-1 District to a PUD District. (Recommended for conditional approval by both

the Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Division.) (3-CA-02-Woodmont

(b) Petition submitted by Signature Construction Co. to rezone approximately

0.25 acres of property located at 2307 Hamilton Road from an R-4 District to a

C-3 District. (Recommended for conditional approval by both the Planning

(c) Petition submitted by Timothy Gregory to rezone approximately 0.17 acres of

Provide carpet (roll & tile) and installation on an ?as needed basis? to

Columbus Consolidated Government. The term of contract shall be for one year,

renewal will be contingent upon the mutual agreement of the City and the

Contractor.

Scope of Bid

Provide two replacement articulating mowers to be used by Park Services to cut

grass at City owned recreational facilities.

1. Renovations and Additions to the Columbus, Georgia Convention and Trade

Center ? RFQ No. 02-0002

Scope of RFQ

Vendors are invited to pre-qualify for the bidding of construction

services for renovations and additions to the Columbus, Georgia Convention and

Trade Center. The project consists of major new additions to the existing

complex comprising approximately 115,000 square feet, and the renovation of the

existing facility of approximately 180,000 square feet.
