? Meeting called to order at 10:40 am by Charles Schilling, Director



? Approved Minutes



? Approve Officers nominations



? Columbus Fair Report

? Dale Hester, Operations Manager, introduced blueprint for grounds

layout including security checkpoints, Midway, and beer garden

? Highlighted utilization of grassy areas to create traffic pattern

? Suggestion to utilize riverfront as a goal in the future



? Special Guest- Phil Roberto, Cottonmouths, General Manager

? Seventh year for Cottonmouths at the Columbus Civic Center

? Struggles during early years as a new organization

? Better communication with new building director, Charles Schilling

than with past years is a sign of good year

? Importance of ice time to the success of the hockey team

? Lack of walk-up sales last season

? September 11, 2001 hurt the local economy

? Competition among all three sports teams for limited corporate

sponsorship

? ?Honeymoon? period with the building is over

? No need for investing marketing dollars in various media

? Hockey will sell itself

? Organization can help by staying in the public image

? No free tickets because organization will lose money

? Goal to keep prices down so will be affordable in the small market

? Will explore new ideas and promotions this season

? Live band and inflatables for kids on opening day to draw crowds

? Private Cottonmouth Club will offer dinner and socialization to

members

? Invites board members to offer suggestions for promotions

? New league policies mandating netting in ?bullet-shot? zones

? Columbus Civic Center Usher training on hockey etiquette



? Director?s Report

? Riverfest, Francis Quick, looking forward to next year at South

Commons

? Disney on Ice may take next year off due to scheduling conflicts with

Riverfest and routing

? Clearchannel will outline a plan in 45 days for contractual

obligations
