CCG Weekly Update - Week 5
Georgia General Assembly Weekly Report
This was a short week in session for the Georgia General Assembly. Although
the legislature adjourned Wednesday afternoon for the remainder of this week,
several key bills were introduced during the three days the General Assembly
was convened. Foremost on people?s minds would be a bill introduced in the
House to license and inspect all crematories in the state. The bill moved
quickly through committee this week. Also, the Governor unveiled a couple of
his plans this week, including health insurance reform and his natural gas
plan. The budget crunch is still a hot topic as revenue estimates continue to
lower.
Both the House and the Senate will reconvene on Monday at 1:30pm.
