A RESOLUTION



No.



WHEREAS, Columbus Councilor Robert S. Poydasheff has faithfully served this

Council as a member since January 6, 1997 and he is vacating his Council seat

to run for Mayor of Columbus, Georgia;



WHEREAS, Councilor Poydasheff was educated at The Citadel and the Tulane

University School of Law and he holds a master's degree in International

Relations from Boston University and is a graduate of the Hague Academy of

International Law, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Army War

College;



WHEREAS, he completed a 24-year career in the U. S. Army in 1979, retiring as

Colonel with decorations including the Legion of Merit with two oak leaf

clusters;



WHEREAS, he currently serves as Executive Vice-President of ATI-Allied

Technologies International, Inc., a firm providing research and development

analysis and professional staffing services for multi-national corporations;



WHEREAS, before joining ATI, Councilor Poydasheff served fifteen and one-half

years as Senior Vice-President for Trust Company Bank of Columbus, now a

division of SunTrust Bank;



WHEREAS, Councilor Poydasheff has used his military and banking experience to

foster good relations with the Fort Benning community and to help balance the

budget of the Consolidated Government for the past six years.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to Councilor Robert S.

Poydasheff for his diligent and faithful service to the citizens of the

Columbus community and to the Columbus Council. Let a copy of this resolution

be forwarded to Mr. Robert S. Poydasheff.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

18th day of June, 2002, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
