A RESOLUTION

NO.



WHEREAS, the Columbus Northern Little League 12 Year-Old All-Stars recently won

the District 8 Championship, the 2004 Georgia State Championship and were the

runners-up in the Southern Region Championship;



WHEREAS, the Northern All-Stars first won the District 8 Championship with a

record of 5-1 and defeated Sally 26-2, defeated Pioneer 7-0, defeated Peach

9-5, and defeated American twice by scores of 14-4 and 3-2;



WHEREAS, the Northern Little League 12 Year-Old All-Stars then won the Georgia

State Championship with a record of 6-0 and defeated Midway 16-5, defeated

Cartersville 10-3, defeated Gainesville 15-2, defeated East Marietta 11-2,

defeated Western of Macon 10-0, and defeated Buckhead for the Georgia State

Championship 2-1;



WHEREAS, the Northern Little League 12 Year-Old All-Stars are the Southern

Region runner-up with a record of 3-2 and defeated Tennessee 1-0, defeated

Florida 12-0, defeated Virginia 8-7, and played in the Southern Region

Championship game televised on ESPN and is considered as one of the top 16

Little League Baseball teams in the Nation;



WHEREAS, this team's accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the following Columbus Northern Little

League 12 Year-Old All-Stars upon their victories in the 2004 District 8

Championship, the 2004 Georgia State Championship and for their accomplishments

in the Southern Region Tournament: Manager Dusty Perdue and Coaches Randy

Morris, Keith Heard, and Kevin Howard, Team Moms Kris Braxton, Paige Beach,

Dana Rossi, and Sherise Hill and Players Taylor Beach, Will Braxton, Johnny

Carter, Wes Dougherty, Will Heard, McClendon Hill, Jake Howard, James Miller,

Michael O?Neal, Brandon Phillips, and Matthew Rossi. Columbus is truly proud

of this team?s hard work and dedication and we wish them every success in the

future.

7th day of September 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
