A RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, William Hugh Royer, Jr. has been recently selected as a 2002 inductee

to the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame;



WHEREAS, he won the Western Open Golf Championship in 1970 on the PGA Tour and

was four-time Georgia PGA Player of the Year in 1972, 1974, 1975 and 1982;



WHEREAS, he is a previous inductee in the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame (1987)

and the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame (1989);



WHEREAS, as an instructional coach, he also helped the Columbus State

University golf team win five NCAA Division II National Championships.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Mr. William Hugh Royer, Jr. upon his

selection as a 2002 inductee to the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame

and we wish him every success in the future. Let a copy of this Resolution be

forwarded to Mr. William Hugh Royer, Jr.
